All around the US people buy ad own these animals as pets. They buy them from backyard breeders, auctions, etc.. Then when the baby grows up they dump it on a sanctuary. Visit this YouTuber: BigCatRescue and this one: TurpentineCreek you will larn more about it.

. I have seen so many of these cats taken in by REAL sanctuaries out of people's back yards as pets. Those poor cats were never fed right or given enough room to exercise. sad sad sad sad If they can't be in the wilds, they are least need proper care and enough food, water and room to at least enjoy their lives and not in cramped backyard cages.

I don't know anyone who owns a lion privately, but I think it should be illegal. Lions are definately wild animals and belong out in the wild
